A Cozy Studio Story
There’s something so special about maternity sessions & there is something even more special and exciting about working with a mama who is obsessed with your work, your vision, and your photos. Before meeting Maria, she had already expressed her excitement to meet me and her excitement to see me work my magic for her and her husband. She repeated several times that she trusted me, she had no vision, and just wanted my signature style in photos. That level of confidence makes me want to deliver the best, most stunning photos. Even though she said her and her husband were awkward in front of the camera and needed a lot of posing support (which everyone gets) these 2 absolutely blew me away with their session. Every photo more perfect than the last. Being able to document these lovebirds is such an honor, one I never take for granted.

When you step into the studio, everything slows down a little. The air is cool, the lighting is impeccable, and there’s no rushing or watching the sky to see if rain clouds are coming.You can take your time adjusting your dress, smoothing your hair, or simply taking a breath between photos. Pregnancy is such a beautiful journey, but it can also be tiring. Having a comfortable indoor space makes the whole experience feel calm and relaxed. Honestly, that relaxed feeling shows in the photos.

Over the years, I’ve found myself loving indoor maternity sessions more and more, especially during the spring and summer here in Miami. And honestly, it all comes down to something every local knows very well — our unpredictable weather.
If you live here, you know exactly what I mean. One moment the sun is shining in that dreamy Miami way that makes everything sparkle, and the next moment the skies suddenly open up for a quick rain shower. I’ve seen it happen many times — a perfectly planned outdoor session interrupted by a fast-moving storm rolling in.
That’s exactly why I love welcoming moms-to-be into the studio during these warmer months. Inside, everything feels calm, comfortable, and beautifully predictable — the perfect setting to slow down and capture this special moment before baby arrives.
Another thing many moms tell me they worry about is the humidity in Miami. Anyone who has lived here long enough knows that humidity can turn a perfectly styled hairstyle into a frizzy situation in minutes. Inside the studio, your hair and makeup stay fresh the entire time. No fighting the heat, no worrying about the wind, and no checking a mirror every few minutes. You simply get to enjoy the moment.

Outdoor sessions in parks or near water can be gorgeous, but during spring and summer those little Miami mosquitoes sometimes decide they want to join the photoshoot too. When they first arrived, they were a little nervous — which is completely normal. Being in front of the camera can feel a little intimidating at first. But as the session unfolded, something really beautiful happened. Little by little, they began to relax. The laughter came more naturally, the smiles became softer, and they started to truly enjoy the moment together. Watching them settle into the experience was so lovely. The way they looked at each other, the gentle way he wrapped his arms around her growing belly, and the quiet smiles they shared made the entire session feel incredibly special. By the end, they weren’t thinking about the camera at all — they were simply soaking in this chapter of their story together. And truly, they looked absolutely radiant. Moments like these are exactly why I love indoor maternity sessions.
