Capturing Faith, family & timeless moments

Spring in Miami means one thing for many families—communion season. It’s such a meaningful milestone, and one that deserves to be captured in a way that feels both beautiful and personal. Emma’s session was the perfect example of how to turn a traditional moment into something truly special.

A Seamless Family & Communion Session

Instead of planning a separate session, we made it easy (and fun!) by combining a family photoshoot with Emma’s communion portraits. We started with relaxed, natural family photos—everyone comfortable, smiling, and enjoying the moment. Then Emma changed into her stunning communion dress, and everything shifted into something a little more timeless and elegant. This approach gives you:

  • A full family gallery
  • Classic communion portraits
  • A stress-free experience (especially for kids!)

Communion Photoshoot in Miami: Beautiful Portraits Beyond the Church

Church portraits are classic and meaningful, but a beautiful communion session doesn’t have to take place inside a church to feel just as special and timeless. Outdoor communion photoshoots in Miami offer soft, natural light and a clean, elegant backdrop that creates that angelic feel so many families love. By choosing a simple outdoor location, we’re able to focus on your child, the significance of the moment, and genuine family connection—while still capturing the beauty and tradition of this milestone. Whether you include meaningful details or keep it minimal, communion photos outside of a church can feel just as reverent, light-filled, and unforgettable.

Why Communion photos matter

First Communion is more than just a day—it’s a meaningful milestone in your child’s life and faith journey. These photos become part of your family’s story for years to come, preserving a moment that deserves to be remembered with intention.

Capturing it thoughtfully means you’ll have:

  • Portraits to share with family
  • Images that feel timeless (not overly posed)
  • A memory your child can look back on and feel proud of

Sessions can also be designed in a way that reflects tradition in a natural, meaningful setting. For Emma’s session, I brought a vintage church pew to the location, which added a subtle sense of tradition while still allowing us to shoot in beautiful natural light. It’s the perfect way to blend the feeling of a church setting with the softness of nature.

Such A special moment

There’s nothing more special than seeing a child step into their faith. It’s not just a milestone—it’s a moment filled with intention, love, and something deeper. Emma’s session was a reminder of how powerful these seasons are, and how important it is to slow down and capture them. Moments like this are simply beautiful. This beautiful outdoor family session also served as a reminder to not stop taking photos once your babies get big! Often times we stop taking photos after the excitement of a new baby comes, and I often hear that their kids are not "into photos" or "hate being photographed" or my personal favorite "my teen refuses." It's been a while that I did photos for a big baby who was ten years old! And although I would be lying when I said the beginning was easy, it was definitely worthwhile. Once we broke down the silly walls, you could tell she was just a little girl, the same little baby that used to love being in front of the camera, and she was SO BACK BABY! She even complimented the session and said she had fun, so take this as a sign if you've been avoiding photos with your big babies.
